Three-part Documentary series for BTB soccer academy.

Short Documentary


BTB is the fastest growing Soccer Academy in Alberta their program is designed for young inspired soccer players who want to improve technically, tactically, psychologically, and physically in order to reach their goal of playing soccer at the highest level possible.


BTB's goal for their marketing campaign was to increase brand awareness, and showcase to parents the dedication & passion to constantly creating the best environment for the success of every athlete in the program. They also sought our help to tell their story about how they overcame the institutional & social issues they faced in the creation of BTB academy.


We worked with the client to create a strategy and concept that aim to drive brand awareness using compelling stories and visuals in a documentary format that is geared towards BTB's target audience.

Creative Process

We intended to stylise this documentary film with high level production and lighting design to improve the film quality and aesthetic of our interview sets to compensate for the diverse locations that lay ahead of us which we know there wouldn't be much control of our scenes. 

With regards to the engaging and investigative nature of this documentary we will stylise the film without separating the viewer from the action. We intend to utilize a wide and close framing of the talent, to give us a real sense that you’re there with the characters. 

In line with this aim to keep our characters feeling as ‘real’ sa possible, we will frame the project using both a 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio we feel is similar to the spherical experience of the human eye. 


The campaign was received well and was a main catalyst in generating funding from the public and government due to better understanding of the importance BTB play's in the life of the youths within the community. With the campaign, we were able to achieve an increase in brand awareness amongst the families in Edmonton and we have been called back to launch a second marketing campaign due to the success of the first.
